The only haunted house in Springfield on this list ends with a 96-foot slide. That's Hotel of Terror & Dungeons of Doom, four floors of live actors and animatronics. It's a short list, since only places that posted 2026 dates make it. Outside town, Field of Screams 2026 in Nixa has two outdoor trails, a Haunted Forest and a clown one called Coulrophobia. Plan on at least 90 minutes to do both, and leave the baby at home, since carrying infants isn't allowed. The weirdest pick is Aurora Maize Zombie Harvest, where you ride an army truck and shoot glow-in-the-dark paintballs at zombies. Friday and Saturday nights only. For a ghost tour, Pythian Castle Ghost Tours is $18.50 and includes a trip into the castle's tunnel.
