How I pick
I'm Mike. I've been building local event guides since 2004, and I run irlxd.com and the Eureka Room in Austin. I also run Halloween Events Near Me, which lists every Halloween thing I can find. This site is the opposite: only the scary stuff, and only what's real for 2026.
The rule
If a haunted house, trail or ghost tour hasn't posted its 2026 dates on its own website, it's not on this site. No guessing from last year. No "probably open." I use software to read each place's official website, and it only keeps a place when it finds 2026 dates there. Right now that's 769 places in 86 cities.
What's on each listing
- Dates as the venue posted them.
- Prices when the venue lists them. Some don't, and prices change (a lot of haunts charge more on Fridays, Saturdays and the last week of October).
- Scare level from one ghost (fine for kids) to five (don't bring the kids). It's based on how the venue describes itself, not a promise.
- The official link, so you can buy tickets from the people actually running it.
Heads up
I haven't been to every one of these. I'd love to, but there are almost a thousand of them. Always check the official site before you drive anywhere. If something's wrong, tell me: contact@hauntedhouser.com.
