Haunted houses in Baltimore

Start in the city. The Nevermore Haunt is about a mile from downtown and leans hard into old Baltimore, with undead factory workers, drowned sailors and shady doctors inside, plus sideshow acts and a bar outside. Heads up: kids under 4 feet tall won't be let in, and general admission swings from $24 to $34 depending on the night. The line is outdoors (covered if it rains). For woods, Creepywoods Haunted Forest in White Marsh is a 25 to 30 minute trail through fog and firelight, with campfires and s'mores after. Popular nights sell out, so buy ahead.

Want to make a whole night of it? Legends of the Fog in Aberdeen spreads a hayride, a haunted house, a corn maze and the Slaughterhouse across 40 acres. If you buy a combo ticket, start at the hayride or you might run out of time. The ghost walks are the calmer side of town. Mt Vernon GhostWalk is an all-ages hour of neighborhood history and haunted lore, $20 in advance. Annapolis has its own tours too, with family ones early and adult ones later.
